MEDICAL INSURANCE

Groundscapes gives $225.00 per month (51.92 per week) to each employee to offset the health care plan costs. Eligible after 60 days of consecutive employment.

  • Some policies are eligible for an HSA plan.

VISION INSURANCE

Employee paid. Eligible after 60 days of consecutive employment.


DENTAL INSURANCE

Employee paid. Eligible after 60 days of consecutive employment.


AD&D INSURANCE

This is an accident only program like AFLAC®. Employee paid. Eligible after 60 days of consecutive employment.


SHORT TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE

We call this the “paycheck protection plan”. Employee paid. Eligible after 60 days of consecutive employment.


COMPANY PAID LIFE INSURANCE

Groundscapes automatically gives a $25,000.00 life insurance policy to any person employed by us, free of charge, during your duration of employment. Eligible after 60 days of consecutive employment.


ADDITIONAL GROUP LIFE INSURANCE OFFERED

As an employee, you will have the capacity to enroll in group life insurance at a discounted rate. Eligible after 60 days of consecutive employment.


401(k)

Groundscapes will provide the detailed 401(k) Safe Harbor booklet upon request. However, the primary functions are:

  • Employee can enroll up to 6% to get matched, but can exceed this up to 25%
  • Company Matches up to 3.5%
  • Pre-tax or post - tax deferrals available.
  • Eligibility requirements are 12 months of service with 1,000 hours vested and entrance into the plan either January 1 or July 1 following the 12-month anniversary date.
  • Additional group term life insurance available after 60 days of employment.

CELL PHONE REIMBURSEMENT

$12.50 per week cell phone reimbursement

  • Applicable positions only
  • Must be a smart phone

COMPANY SUPPLIED VEHICLE

Select positions qualify for a company vehicle to be taken home. Company vehicle policy will apply.


COMPANY CLOTHING

You will be provided with a specific amount of clothes on new hire and will be given an allowance gift card upon each anniversary to be utilized at the Groundscapes Store.

General items can always be purchased yearlong from the Groundscapes Stock, or additional from the store, at the employees’ own cost if gift card balance runs out.


INITIAL CLOTHING ALLOWANCE

Select positions qualify for first clothing allowance to be provided to you in form of a gift card annually upon new hire to spend with our clothing supplier, for you to buy gear at the Groundscapes Store.

BRANCH CARDS

Groundscapes is a paperless paycheck company. Should you not have a checking account to direct deposit your paycheck into, then a paycheck card will be given to you, free of charge, and your paycheck will be deposited there for your use. For more information, please request a Branch handout.


PAY & PAY PERIOD 

Monday through Sunday. Payday is every Monday.


PAID HOLIDAYS & VACATIONS

Eligible after 90 days of consecutive employment.

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day

In addition to the above holidays, in lieu of a Christmas Bonus, every employee is given every PAID time off (working days) between Christmas Day and January 2nd, to stay home and spend time with family. In order to qualify for this benefit, you:

  • Must have been employed six consecutive months prior to Christmas Eve. 
  • Must have a start date of June 23rd of that year or earlier, no exceptions.
  • If you start working for Groundscapes following June 23rd, the extra time is unpaid. You may use your vacation time should you wish to be paid for this time off.
  • The only exception to this time off is if it snows. Then this time becomes all hands on deck. If snowfall affects “family time off” the owners have the discretionary judgement to adjust the amount of time we give off to those employees that are still required to work during that time. This can vary on a year-to-year basis.

VACATION

All Permanent Full-Time and Exempt Groundscapes Inc. employees are eligible to accrue vacation time. Vacation hours accrue on a yearly basis. The vacation accrual policy for Permanent Full-Time and Exempt employees is as follows:

  • After 90-days – 1 week (40 hours)
  • Year 1 anniversary – 1 week (40 hours)
  • Year 3 anniversary – 2 week (80 hours)
  • Year 5 anniversary – 3 week (120 hours)
  • Year 10 anniversary – 4 weeks (160 hours)

All unused vacation may be paid out at the employee’s request prior to one’s anniversary date. If vacation time is available, the employee is required to use for any sick or personal leave. There will be no unpaid sick leave if vacation is available. If this is found, the hours will be deducted from any unused vacation time.


COMPANY MILESTONES

Upon each anniversary the following milestone markers will apply:

  • 1 Year  – Company text recognition, $100.00, and a uniform gift card
  • 5 Year  - Company text recognition, anniversary card signed by all staff, catered or provided lunch for you and your crew, if applicable. Company appreciation plaque, $500.00, and a uniform gift card
  • 10 years  – Company text recognition, anniversary card signed by all staff, catered or provided lunch for you and your crew, if applicable. Company appreciation plaque, cake + balloons. Gift certificate, for flight and hotel costs for 7 days for themselves + 1 to vacation anywhere within designated travel itinerary locations. They will have to work with Lori to get this completed/scheduled. PLUS, a $1,000.00 check on your anniversary and a uniform gift card
  • 15 Year  - Company text recognition, anniversary card signed by all staff, catered or provided lunch for you and your crew, if applicable. Company appreciation plaque, $1,500.00, and a uniform gift card
  • 20 years  – Company text recognition, anniversary card signed by all staff, catered or provided lunch for you and your crew, if applicable. Company appreciation plaque, cake + balloons. Gift certificate, for flight and hotel costs for 7 days for themselves + 1 to vacation *anywhere within designated travel itinerary locations. They will have to work with Lori to get this completed/scheduled. PLUS, a $2,000.00 check on your anniversary and a uniform gift card
